Milking and Quality standards.

We are milking our cows by using 50 bail rotary flat forms. Very famous Nu pulse vacuum and pulsater systems are powered by our plant.

We are maintaining above average quality standards in all aspects. Somatic Cell Count (SCC) is below 100,000 throughout the season and it is below than the New Zealand average. And it is much below than the global level (e.g.: America- 700,000) Our Coliform test mostly negative or below 10/ml and Bactoscan A+, never grade for inhibitory substances.

Calf Rareing

We are rearing our calves as fully recorded calves for replacement stock.

Perennial Rye grass

Perennial Rye grass (lolium perene) is the main pasture plant. High crude protein level of this plant helps better milk production of our cows. Generally using Perennial Rye and white clover mixture in pasture lands.

White clover

White clover is a legume plant and high in crude protein. It fixes atmospheric Nitrogen. There for biological nitrogen fixation (150kg of Nitrogen/ha/year) in these plasture lands.

So we are using very little amount of artificial fertilizer (Capital and trace elements). Sometimes we use liquid nitrogen plus giberillin(plant growth regulator) by aerial application or by boom spreader to improve the yields.

We never apply pesticides or insecticides. Clove root weevil is a threat for our pasture lands. We use biological control methods for clove root weevil.

Mainly control weeds by moving and topping like mechanical methods. Occasionally we use herbicides in our pasture lands to control weeds.
